fur here, fur there, fur everywhere! i think – i think – i think this is my favorite collection from paris. i mean sure, there is a lot to argue, there isn’t alot new going on here – but the knits – mixed with fur on the arms or collar – mixed with sheer dresses – everything is just what i want to wear – effortless perfection.

Monday, March 7th, 2011isabel marant – fall/winter – 2011
Monday, March 7th, 2011yeeps! isabel marant, the epitome of cool, french bohemian dressing. her knits are are amazing, no? i mean that knit dress in the second photo – it could go a little shortie short, but because it is a knit, in masculine colors, and long sleeve – it works. and then she went there – she did 3 or 4 jackets with the long thin lapel i’m dying to get a piece of. seriously – this is on my list of must owns this year.
celine – fall/winter – 2011
Monday, March 7th, 2011uber chic celine – clothes for a a confident woman who knows what she wants and how to dress. now, i don’t see my self (right now) if in a white turtleneck, tailored trousers, and overcoat – but I can’t help but be mesmerized by how nice everything looks. those clean lines scream hours of rigidly editing yourself – stepping back and saying – do we really need this? or should we move that seam 2mm to the right? in my personal work i strive for that perfection – deciding on a certain style and sticking to it no matter what is the hardest to achieve. i think even just the process of getting yourself to the point where you can say – yes i love that – but no, it doesn’t work for this – means you’ve grown so much. i’m not there yet – but if i keep at it …. right, right, right?
rue du mail – fall/winter – 2011
Sunday, March 6th, 2011i am so inspired by her use of color – in unexpected places – like the yellow in the fur of the first look- and then the royal blue fur in the barely there vest – so good! i also can’t help but love those art-deco print inspired dresses, with the perfect hint (sometimes a little more) of sheer. i think art deco is in my blood – just sayin’.
anne valérie hash – fall/winter – 2011
Sunday, March 6th, 2011ooo la la – i’d never heard of anne valérie hash until this season – i’m so glad i keep clicking on new designer i don’t know about – it’s been so exciting finding out about new talent. i absolutely love her look. feminine, effortless, a little tough, lots of textures, and style exploding from every look. my favorite piece is in look 4 – the black slouchy silk sleeveless jacket (does that make it a vest?) with velvet (maybe) long fluid lapels. OMG i don’t know if i’ll be able to stop thinking about it. i know – extreme – but i really really love it that much! i think what i love about this collection is that is reflects a lifestyle – there is an organic-ness to the clothes (even the styling) – the pieces look loved and worn.

dries van noten – fall/winter – 2011
Sunday, March 6th, 2011the patchwork prints – those royal blues i am OBSESSED with – the peeks of fur on the inside of jackets – and then those long effortless dresses! and i particularly loved the shot of the designer coming out and all those dresses in the background – i think those looks in particular – the colors, textures, and prints perfectly encapsulate everything that was in the show!
