my roommate, Kristen, started dabbling in neon last year, and it made me really appreciate neon as art, rather than neon as an ‘open’ sign or ‘liquor’ sign. K told me neon is actually a really difficult medium to work with & something that looks really simple is actually quite an accomplishment. i love how neon is happy, and pop art-y, and the light actually creates a distinct mood in the room. imagine going into this kitchen with the lights dimmed and those letters turned on – don’t you think it would just liven up the atmosphere – the kitchen would automatically be more fun, right?
