This is one of my favorite pages from the B&A Artists Journal – a promotional zine they distributed to art directors to promote their artists. I love the use of negative space – and how the artwork cleverly mirrors the photograph. I also can’t help but mention that the photograph, taken by Mark Lund, is equally playful, and full of the kind of natural light photographers dreams are made of.

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011i love this logo. the worn effect on the type – and then the clever word play with the number and how the 8 & 9 over hang just a tad. i want to work towards creating pieces this good – in that vein – i just found this uh-mazing new tutorial/interview/tips site called method & craft – so many great little tips – i learn something new there everyday – i just watched i video on how to get a similar weathered efferct in illustrator.
