Wednesday, May 25th, 2011i love kat macleod’s work. a few years ago i bought a cocktail book she illustrated – i think it will always be my very favorite – chic drinks and absolutely amazing illustrations. anyway – today i bought another book she illustrated called ‘like i give a frock’ – filled with even more watercoloured ladies. then i stumbled upon these prints… i have no words… just perfect.

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011i love this logo. the worn effect on the type – and then the clever word play with the number and how the 8 & 9 over hang just a tad. i want to work towards creating pieces this good – in that vein – i just found this uh-mazing new tutorial/interview/tips site called method & craft – so many great little tips – i learn something new there everyday – i just watched i video on how to get a similar weathered efferct in illustrator.

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011i always wondered if anyone ever wore the chanel hotpants karl puts on the runway just about every season… imagine my delight to find this photo of poppy delevigne WEARING THE HOT PANTS – and looking really, really great. the shorts are definitely leggy to say the least – but because everything else is very casual – she finds the perfect balance of sexy, effortless cool.

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011i love the lettering on the stationary here – and the peach plate with engraved details throughout… l.o.v.e. i found a bowl like these plates once at an antique store in wisconsin – i passed it up because at the time i was getting a few other little trinkets – but i still think about that bowl to this day. sighhhhh.

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011the attention to detail that goes into the clothes for the row is impressive. i love this ‘R’ – it looks like someone could have done it themselves – but uber chic and classic. it inspires me to monogram some summer scarves i have.

Friday, May 13th, 2011so i’m very excited! remember i was telling you about that little thing i am working on called le registrie? well – tomorrow is a big day – i mean it’s not huge – but you’ve got to celebrate the small things….. i digressssssss.
anyway – tomorrow, john and i will be taking vignette/editorial photos of a bunch of cool little things – i’ll be styling – and it will be one of the first time i’ll be actually trying my hand at prop styling…. so excited!
we’re taking these photos – which will be front in center in the media kit we are sending boutiques – in hopes that they’ll be so excited to be founding partner shops in le registrie.

Thursday, May 12th, 2011emma stone is really killing it lately, no? the first look is lanvin, then louis vuitton, lanvin again, calvin klein, and finally chanel. i love the messy-chic hair and those raspberry lips – and i love that she doesn’t mind her pale limbs – which i can totally relate to. can’t wait to see what she wears next!
