i discovered this great print by Geoff McFetridge on the Partners & Spade blog. i love how even though he only uses 4 colors, you can still get so much from it. interesting, bold, humorous, iconic all come to mind.

Loving this first image, I wanted to know more about the artist so i made a few clicks and found myself on his professional site Champion Studio and found this amazing poster for one of my favorite bands: phoenix. again… limited color palette, but really catches your attention and lets your mind play for a second of two.. imagining the notes from a piano fill the air..

He is also the one behind the where the wild things are graphics. i will admit to not seeing the movie yet ( i know, i should watch this.. but i’m afraid i’ll start sobbing all of the place.. i know i will ) i loved the graphics. I think they are genius.. playful and full of whimsy and help define the mood of the film. do i have to point out, again, the limited color palette and how talented he is at creating emotion… i think you get the point : )

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010just saw this Slim Aarons photo on oh joy. how amazing! this is the sort of thing i love! and how kooky and amazing is the person that signed off on this?! don’t you just want to meet them and find out about their life. i know i do! oh.. and if you want to take a dip in this pretty kitty pool, sadly… it is no longer. in an effort to update the hotel, the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami replaced it with a more modest rectangle shaped pool. surprised?

OH, Hello London – Christopher Kane
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010You know what is funny.. i bet this spring we will see editorial table settings and table pieces being sold in these neon floral laces and meshes. i mean.. it is nothing new… but this spring i think it will be big. it is just so amazing how fashion translates into so many different mediums.. i believe fashion really sets the tone for so many creative industries… Anyways.. we’ll have to wait and see about my prediction… but read it here… i’m calling it now. although i don’t love the head-to-toe looks of this collection (maybe i will when i look at it again in month or so) i think they are going to break into separates really well. i mean.. those plastic-y looking floral lace pieces are going to all over the editorial pages. see more from this christopher kane show at style.com

OH, Hello London – Charles Anastase
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010The thing i love about fashion, is never-fail, every season you get such a diverse mix of perspectives from designers about how women should dress. you can be one girl on monday, and then someone totally different on sunday. in this collection, i feel like these dresses are going to be all over the pages of my favorite magazine.. lula. so girly, sweet, and fanciful.. i could be an Anastase girl.. on tuesday maybe. see more at Charles Anastase at style.com

OH, Hello London – Erdem
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010could.not.stop.clicking. love.love.love. garden party on crack.. like the really good stuff. even though a lot of the dresses are similar in shape- the fit and rich fabrics make it all okay.. if only i could frolic in the park in of these come spring, i would be a happiest little kitten on the block! which is your favorite? i think mine is… three, five, and eight! please check out the entire collection at style.com

OH, Hello London – Antonio Berardi
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010i’ll admit, id never heard of Antonio Berardi until this season. i was browsing style.com (of course), looking for new designers, and fell in love.. the colors, the silhouettes, the wispy-ness. don’t you just love how he mixes the soft pink, rosette dresses with a light “army green” structured jacket.. i mean it’s obvious.. but not overboard.. just right i think. i can’t wait to see what he does next season..

OH, Hello London – Paul Smith
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010the relaxed, perfectly tailored menswear in shimmery grays and blues – and then mixed in with the the florals in this beautiful dusty palette… just wow. see everything at style.com

OH, Hello London – Acne
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010the mix of textures and proportions are so right here. and the mostly neutral palette sprinkled with pops of red and navy (which is technically a neutral.. but not really when shown with all the neutrals here) keep things interesting and exciting look to look. yeeps… look two is amazing, right.. by far my favorite? thanks again style.com for all your amazing coverage

OK! Let’s do this fashion week thing – Proenza Schouler
Tuesday, September 21st, 2010OK! Let’s do this fashion week thing – Calvin Klein
Monday, September 20th, 2010everything looks so fluid.. even when it is perfectly sculpted. this collection made me stop and pay attention to a brand that i worshiped as a kid… i pulled weeds for a week just so my mom would buy me a calvin klein pullover sweater. see more at style.com

OK! Let’s do this fashion week thing – Karen Walker
Monday, September 20th, 2010you just feel cool, in the know maybe, when you wear karen walker… what else is there to say? it’s off beat, fun, and cool. plus i love how even just one piece can easily update everything else you already have in your closet for the new season. see the entire collection at style.com

OK! Let’s do this fashion week thing – Anna Sui
Monday, September 20th, 2010Queen of bohemia — love Love LOVE Anna Sui. I was recently in this great vintage store, and they had a few pieces from her quintessential collections in the 90′s. And then I see this collection, so similar to the vintage pieces i was lusting after – i just loved it instantly. The way she mixes colors and prints is genius- and incredibly, she makes feathers, and tribal beads look like a summer staple, rather than a trend of the moment. My favorite part though, is seeing models with smiles on their faces.. it makes me smile and happy and reminds me why i love fashion!! see more at style.com

OK! Let’s do this fashion week thing – Phillip Lim
Monday, September 20th, 2010if i could wear any designers’ clothes… all the time… forever… phillip lim would be a close contender for the top spot. everything he does looks polished and portrays the effortlessness every stylish person i know attempts to achieve when getting dressed. i love his neutral palette, and those sheer dot pants are so good.. albeit maybe tough to fit into the wardrobe rotation.

hey.. i could do this!
Thursday, September 16th, 2010ok.. i could totally do this. I haven’t thought of putting demin with my little gold jacquard skirt. i think this says… yes, i care, but i don’t try that hard. saw this look at nymag.com

OK! Let’s do this fashion week thing – Rebecca Taylor
Wednesday, September 15th, 2010the lips, the messy hair, the effortlessly pulled together-ness. i feel like they styled the girls exactly how i want to dress. i used to think of this brand as… you know the dated label with butterflies on everything and washed out florals/silks and whatnot… weather that really happened or if it was just in my head… i take it all back. love. oh and love to style.com for the supersize images…
OK! Let’s do this fashion week thing – Rebecca Minkoff
Tuesday, September 14th, 2010too much to say here… so lets start with this.. for the first time rebecca minkoff is offering a head to toe look and.. i love it. i mean, with the clothes, there is no reinventing the wheel going on… but the styling made me want everything. Those shoes… so good.. uh if only i had those tan/sparkle shoes on my feet right now…. and the little boots and the ones with the thick black straps… also.. that nude dress with the black trim… oh and the leather with the red dress!! yeeps! thanks style.com
